Senior Mechanical Construction Manager

Job Description
As a Senior Mechanical Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and directing construction projects from conception through to completion.
You will review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs, while overseeing all onsite and offsite construction activities to ensure compliance with building and safety regulations. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry experts to successfully deliver complex, cutting-edge projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Determining project schedule requirements and supporting the development of project schedules
- Preparing and managing 12-week look-ahead programmes
- Reporting on site progress and highlighting future issues/roadblocks to the Main Contractor and Contracts Manager
- Conducting regular site safety walks and ensuring timely close-out of actions
- Conducting regular quality inspections and ensuring prompt resolution of issues
- Leading commissioning activities, ensuring timely completion and proactive resolution of roadblocks
Skills & Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in a Construction Manager / Senior Supervisor role (pharmaceutical experience essential)
- 5+ years’ experience managing teams (up to 10 supervisors and 100+ craft personnel), including manpower planning, execution and productivity management
- Experience with weekly reporting to a Contracts Manager
- Excellent technical knowledge of piping (supporting, installation, welding, testing, sloping and handover)
- Strong understanding of quality requirements associated with piping installation
- Proficient in Navisworks 3D model navigation, isometric drawings, and supervisor work pack monitoring
- Strong experience managing project schedules
- Commercial awareness
- Good knowledge of construction health & safety requirements, including implementation of RAMS, SPAs and other H&S processes
- Background in piping installation; hygienic piping and orbital welding experience advantageous
- Third-level qualification in Construction / Mechanical Engineering (advantageous)
